Perfect Praise (for grumblers)
Praise is to be perfected and is to be as constant as prayer!
Perfect praise (for grumblers) does not mean perfect praise for those who grumble. It means, rather, perfect praise to the one who is perfect, that being our creator.
I think most of us must admit that we grumble and murmur when we ought to be lifting up praises to our creator.
I am not a natural praiser. While, I am a long-term optimist, I'm a short-term pessimist. However, what got me wanting to do this praise section is a book called Perfect Praise by CH Spurgeon.
CH Spurgeon was a Baptist preacher in England. He's known as the Prince of Preachers. His book speaks to me in deep ways and reminds me of Hinds Feet on High Places by Hannah Hurnard. Both books are beautifully written and can fill a person with desire to be close to the creator. Spurgeon’s book encourages me to praise the great king. There is a particular place in the book where Spurgeon talks about murmuring and complaining. Both may make us “feel” better but how much better to praise the creator in our dark and painful times.
Praise should be as much a part of us as prayer. People say to pray all the time but do we praise all the time as well? What type of Praise do we have and for whom ? Our Praise must be perfect praise.
Most of us, at least at some point, grumble, murmur and complain. The murmuring and complaining of God's people led to all types of troubles when they were in the desert. And it did not please God. So we must have perfect praise. What is perfect praise and to whom do we direct it? Perfect can mean mature. A grown-up praise. A practiced praise. So let us praise as much as we pray. In both cases may it be constant. We will break down praise in further editions citing much scripture as support. I say we because I’m sure your feedback will inform this section.
I would like to have your feedback and your ideas about praise. How we might praise him better?
